Softball Tips - Softball Fielding
Tip 1 (Protecting a Lead)- Retreat Your Outfielders. Having your outfielders take a few steps backward prevents many balls from sailing over their heads, which reduces opportunities for extra-base hits. You want your defensive players to keep the ball in front of them at all costs in tight situations.
Tip 2 (Dealing with Pull Hitters) - The second baseman moves all the way over to the shortstop side of second base.
Tip 3 (Picking a Glove) - Pick the right glove for your position and your size. Do not assume that the bigger the glove is the easier it will be for you to catch with it. Choose one that fits well and that does not feel too heavy for your hand to get the ball in and out of the glove quickly.
