Burrs on boot laces

If you are going to be hiking in an area with a lot of burrs, you'll probably end up with a lot of them stuck to your boot laces. These can be really tough to remove. But if you rub your boot laces with paraffin or wax before you hike in such areas, you'll find you get fewer burrs stuck in your laces, and those that are stuck are much easier to remove.
