Saving a folder in the Dock in OS X

1. Open the finder
2. Navigate to the folder you want added to the dock
3. Drag the folder icon in the finder into the dock

To remove it from the dock, grab it and drag it out of the dock. It'll disappear.

This is so easy... yet I always forget how to do it.

if you someone wanted to add a folder to their dock.. what kind of moron would not think of trying this first on their own?

I'll confess to be just such a moron. It took me about 5 minutes to figure this out the first time I tried it.

I use a Mac now, but I used to use a PC. It takes a long time to un-learn all of the complicated ways of doing things before you feel safe trying what is just obvious from intuition.

There is one minor detail missing. There's a vertical line in the Dock, seperating it into two sections. The left half only holds applications, and the right only holds folders and web shortcuts.

Duh...if you don't know how to do this you shouldn't be using a computer.
