It's never easy getting kids up for school. I know that my oldest daughter gets enough sleep, but she is still very hard to get out of bed in the morning. She has two younger sisters that get to stay home and that makes it even harder. I asked some of the other moms if they had any ideas to share and got some very good tips.

The best suggestion that I got was that most parents take getting kids up for school as their responsibility where I think we should teach the children that it's their job to get up on their own.

Mine just started preschool and I'm starting early to avoid problems later on. My tip for getting kids up for school without a huge problem is that the day before school starts you should take your child shopping at the local discount store and buy a cool alarm clock in a shape or that has their favorite television or cartoon characters that they love printed on the face. Make sure that it plays a song or makes sounds that are loud enough to do its job.

Make a regular, nightly routine of setting the clock and letting it sing, chime or ring until it wakes them in the morning. They will feel very grownup and in control when their very own clock wakes them rather than mommy or daddy.
