Shutdown surveillance on your computer
If you are using a computer that has a network monitoring or surveillance program on it or a program that blocks certain domains from being accessed, here a tip that may help you shut it down. It doesn't always work, it depends on which program is being used. But it's easy to try and it can work on any type of computer - Mac, PC, Linux box, etc.
Open up a program like MS Word, Excel, or a text editor and create a new file and enter some information into the file. Do not save it.
Then shut down your computer.
As all the programs on your computer start closing, you should get a dialog that asks you what you want to do with this unsaved file: save it, don't save it, or cancel. You'll want to wait as long as possible and then opt to cancel. All the while, the other programs on your computer including, hopefully, the program that is limiting you, are shutting down.
Once you cancel, if the program that was monitoring or limiting your network traffic was already shut down, you'll have a computer with no restrictions on it now.
