Giving pills to dogs

Here's my trick for giving my dog pills so that he does not spit them out...

Get some bread and wrap it around the pill. Crush the bread down so that the total pill/bread package is as small as possible with the pill completely covered by bread. Bread is a good choice for wrapping pills because you can mold into any shape.

Then give it to your dog. The trick is that when you give it to your dog, hold their head up while they are chewing. This way if the pill and bread become separated, they will still swallow it. If you don't hold their head up, they'll put their head down and the pill can fall out. And then you have to start the whole process over again.
