If you're going to be visiting London, I'd highly recommend staying in the Marriott Hotel at County Hall. The hotel is right off the Westminster Bridge so it is close to lots of great attractions, it has great access to the tube, and it's slightly off the main path so it's very quiet. The only downside is the cost, expect to pay several hundred pounds at a minimum.
