Polishing silver without polish

If you need to polish some silver but you don't have any silver polish, here's a trick to help you out... use ketchup instead. You can use ketchup just like silver polish - either put it in a bowl and let the items soak in it, or use a cloth or brush to scrub the item. The acid from the tomatoes in the ketchup will remove any tarnish from the silver. Once you are done, rinse in clean water and dry. Cleaning your silver this way is also more environmentally friendly since they are no harsh chemicals involved.
