Getting your iCal events on your iPod
If you use iCal on your Mac, did you know that you can export your calendar to the calendar on your iPod? If you're like me and your iPod goes everywhere with you, this can be pretty convenient. Here's how to do it.
- In iCal, select the Calendar you want to export and select Export from the File menu to export the calendar. The resulting file will be saved with .ics extension.
- Put your iPod in disk mode. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 for an explanation of how this is done.
- Connect your iPod to your computer.
- Open up a Finder window and drag your export file in to the iPod.
- Disconnect your iPod from your computer (eject it from the Finder or use Command + E). Once it is disconnected, your iPod will restart.
- Now when you go to the Calendar in your iPod (it's in the Extras section), you can select the calendar that you exported.
If you have multiple calendars, you can export them all from iCal and copy them all over to your iPod and you'll be able to select between them on your iPod.
