Vista Snipping tool undocumented keyboard shortcut

The Vista Spinning tool has a built in shortcut key that is not very well documented. It allows you to catch context menus and mouse or key effects that normally hide when you open the snipping tool.

1. Open Snipping Tool
2. Press 'ESC' or press cancel to exit capture mode. Leave the tool on your desktop.
3. Create the menu, mouse, text effect that you want to capture
4. Press 'Ctrl' + 'Print Screen' to start capture mode with the snipping tool

Of course you can use this method even if you're not interested in capturing context menus or effects.
