Importing contacts into GMail

If you are using GMail, it's fairly easy to import your contacts from whatever mail program you are currently using. Most every major mail program (Outlook, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail) supports export your contacts as a CSV file. To get your contacts into GMail, first export them from your current program as a CSV. You can then import your contacts to GMail by logging into GMail and doing the following:

- Click "Contacts" on the left side of any GMail page.
- Click "Import" which is in the lower-left corner of the main part of the window.
- Click the "Browse..." button and then navigate to your export file.
- Once you select the file, click the "Import" button.

You can import up to 3000 contacts at a time in this manner. If you have contacts from multiple mail programs, you can import each exported CSV file separately as there is no limit to the number of imports you can perform.
