Keeping powdered sugar frosting from cracking
If you have ever made a powedered sugar frosting, you may have had issues with the frosting cracking as it dried out. To keep this from happening, add a pinch of baking powder to the frosting when you are micing it up. This will keep the frosting from cracking when it gets drier, and it makes the frosting creamier too.
