Improve fuel economy
To help improve fuel economy of your car, make sure that it is properly maintained. Here's some simple things you can do to improve fuel economy:
- Keep your tires properly inflated by checking them and putting in air as needed once a week. Low tires are a killer for fuel economy.
- Make sure your air filter is clean. Check it at least every 3 months. If you live or drive on a dirt road often, check it every month. A clogged air filter restricts air flow into the engine and results in greatly reduced fuel economy.
- Keep your car tuned up.
- Get excess junk out of your car. Every pound of stuff in your car requires energy (gas) to be moved from point A to point B. So don't carry a lot of unneeded junk in your car. If your trunk is full of stuff you never use, store in your house instead of in your car.
