A lot of theme parks have special lines for "singles" on some of their more popular rides. If you go in the singles line, you don't necessarily get to go on the ride with your friends. But the singles lines are often a much quicker way to get through a line. And sometimes you end up right next to some of your friends anyways. If you want to skip the really long lines, take the singles line if there is one. You can still talk to your friends in line, and you're only apart for the couple of minutes that the ride takes.
