Joel Spolsky writes what I think is the best blog out there on software development on his site Joel on Software.

His blog contains a lot of day-to-day stuff, but he frequently writes very long, well thought-out articles on the software development process, the care and feeding of software developers, and development tools. If you are a developer or, even more importantly, you manage developers, you should be reading his blog.
