Making softer cookies
If your cookies come out hard, try replacing some of the sugar in your cookie recipe with either honey or sweetened apple sauce. Both of these sugar substitutions will give you softer cookies. But don't replace all of the sugar, just replace some of it. You'll have to experiment with your exact recipe to find out the exact amount to substitute, but you shouldn't ever plan on substituting for more than 1/2 a cup of sugar.
