Get rid of the Visio splash screen

Every time you start Visio 2007, you get a splash screen. It's cool for a time or two, but after that it gets old and it's just something that keeps you from getting to your work quicker. If you want to get rid of the splash screen on Visio 2007, you can do so by creating your own shortcut to start Visio.

- On an open area of your Desktop, right click and select New and then Shortcut from the menu.

- Click the Browse button and navigate to and select the Visio application.

- Once you select the Visio application, the full path to the executable will be shown. It will look something like this, "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\VISIO.EXE". Edit the executable path by adding a space and then /nologo to the end. This goes after the last double quote. So for the previous example, after editing it should look like this, "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\VISIO.EXE" /nologo.

- Click the Next button and give a name to your shortcut.

Once the shortcut is created, starting Visio 2007 by using the shortcut will result in the splash screen being skipped.
