Copy and Paste from VMware
If you want the ability to copy and paste to and from your virtual machine in VMware with your host machine, you need to install the VMware tools inside your virtual machine: http://www.vmware.com/support/ws5/doc/new_guest_tools_ws.html
Once the VMware tools are installed, you then need to launch the VMware toolbox utility. Do that by typing the following on the command line:
vmware-toolbox &
Once that is done copy and paste should work.

I am using VMware server 1.0.7 and could get that method to work for copying and pasting files, but I did manage to map a network drive eventually. IPCONFIG on your host to get your IP address then (in WinServ2003) map to \\[IPaddress]\C$ for example.
