Add Facebook chat to Firefox
If you use Facebook chat instant messaging, and you use Firefox, you can install Facebook chat as a sidebar in your Firefox browser to be shown whenever and where ever you are browsing, not just when you are on the Facebook site.
- Open your bookmarks organizer by go to Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks in the menu bar.
- Select the New Bookmark button.
- In the pop-up box, enter http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php in the Location field, and check the box next to Load this bookmark in the sidebar. Also enter a name, like "Facebook Chat" to distinguish this bookmark. Once the fields are entered, click OK.
Once you create this bookmark, you can click on it and you'll have Facebook chat as a sidebar in your browser.
