A new way to steal music
Clickster is an interesting new way to steal music. It is not a P2P system. Instead, it looks for MP3 files that are left in public directories on web servers and on other people's computers. It then compiles a searchable list of music that it knows about. You use their application to search for any song/artist/album you want, and it then downloads it directly from the computer(s) where it found it. Since it's not P2P, the download speeds tend to be much faster. Also since it's a direct download, it's not blocked by Comcast and other ISPs that block P2P traffic.
This software is totally free. They also claim that it's legal. I doubt that it's legal, but since there is no central computer to keep track of downloads, it sounds pretty safe.
