Finding the right RAM memory for your Mac

Buying RAM memory upgrades can be daunting. There are a *lot* of different types of RAM and if you buy the wrong one it won't work in your system. Lots of memory sites have scanners that run in IE that can scan your system and tell you exactly what type of memory you need to buy if you are looking to upgrade. None there is a site that is doing this for Mac users too.

The scanner does not run in the browser (since there is no equivalent of ActiveX for the Mac). But crucial memory offers a program that you can download that you can then run and it'll tell you exactly what type of RAM you need to purchase for your Mac. If you want to take the guess work out of buying RAM upgrades without paying Apple's very high prices, check out their site.
