Raising Healthy Children

We can discipline a child without lowering their self-esteem.If we remember our objective is to teach them because we love them.

I remember once I was rushing around and trying to get things done when my son did something wrong and I went from 0 to 60 in less then a scond. After I yelled at him I thought to myself, How would you have talked to him if you loved him? I was actually being sarcastic to myself. I stopped in my tracks and thought I do love him.I went to him and apoligized. I learned a very important lesson that day.It is not about me getting mad or being inconvenienced, but it is about him learning with my loving guidance.
