Fixing "Server Not Found" errors on Comcast
I recently started getting internet service over cable from Comcast (yes, I know they are evil). While the speed is good, I was having a lot of connection issues. Lot's of times I'd get he "server not found" page when I tried to click on a link or go to a site. But if I'd refresh the browser, everything would be fine. It's like the connection would just drop for a split section.
Using Comcast, it makes use of DHCP. I checked my router (a Netgear WGR614) and all the settings were fine.
What finally worked was updating the firmware on my router. I went to the Netgear site, found my router, and downloaded the latest firmware and installed it. After I did this, my connection was much better... no more server not found errors.
