Keep Champagne fizzy

If you open a bottle of champagne and you want to keep it fizzy, put a small metal teaspoon in the bottle. This will keep the champagne fizzy for a day or so.

I think it's that you should turn a poon upside down and place the stem in the neck of the bottle stopped by the head of the spoon. No idea how this works, but it does indeed...
