If you are a new player to Eve Online (http://www.eve-online.com/) here are some tips and tricks to help you stay alive and do well in the game.

1 - One of the filters in your map is "Ships destroyed in the last hour". Use this map to look for areas where lots of ships are being destroyed. And then stay far away from these areas.

2 - Make sure that you always have a location to a different system programmed into your autopilot. If you need to get out of something in a hurry, you can then quickly leave by going to this pre-programmed location with the push of a button. Think of it as your panic button.

3 - Be wary of everyone you meet until you know them well and have experience with them. Just like in real life, if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The more harmless someone tries to appear, the more likely that they are trying to appear this way because they have something non-harmless planned for you. Always be wary.

4 - Always be sure to update your clones. Any time you die, you will lose all of the skills you got since the last time you bought a clone, so keep them up to date.
