Disable the Word 2007 Splash Screen
Tired of seeing the splash screen every time you start Microsoft Word 2007? If so, here's how to get rid of the splash screen.
- Right click on the Desktop and from the menu that is shown select New and then Shortcut.
- Click the browse button and locate the executable for Word 2007. On my computer, this is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE, but your's may be different.
- Once you select this executable, it will fill in the full path to the location of this executable in the form, it will be inside double quotes. Click in this form and *after* the last set of double quotes put in a space and then /q and then click the Next button.
- You'll then be asked to name the shortcut, and it will then be created.
Adding the /q option to the launching of Word 2007 makes it run in quiet mode, and there will be no splash screen shown.
