Don't use disposable cups at the coffee shop

If you are a regular visitor to your local (or chain) coffee shop, don't keep getting your drinks in their disposable cups. Even though most coffee shops use recycled cups, this creates a lot of extra waste. Even more waste is created if you use the little cardboard insulator on the cup to keep your fingers from burning.

Instead, by a travel cup with a lid. Most coffee shops will give you a discount on your drinks if you buy one of their cups. So if you are a regular customer, this will pay off in the long run. And you'll be reducing the amount of waste you create.
