Setting dyes in clothes

If you use a dye to change the color of some clothing, you should be sure to set the dye once you are done. To set the dye, put the recently dyed clothes in your washer, fill the washer with water and add half a cup of salt. Allow the washer to run for a minute (still with no clothes in it) to mix the salt in the water. Then add your dyed clothes and let them sit in this salt water for an hour. When the hour is up, all the wash cycle of the washer to complete, and the dye will be set.
