Avoid getting ripped off by cabs
When traveling internationally, it's hard to know if you are getting ripped off by a taxi cab, especially if you don't speak the language of the country you are visiting. Well, it's not that hard really, you can almost always count on being ripped off. To help with this, the world taxi meter site tells you what you should expect to pay for a cab in various cities throughout the world. You can pick your city, your starting and end locations, and they'll give you an approximate idea of what you should expect to pay - in a variety of currencies. They also give tips specific to the cabs in that city. This service is very nice and complete. The only problem with it at this point is that only seven cities are covered (London, Rome, Prague, San Francisco, Madrid, Barcelona, and New York), but expect their coverage to expand as the service grows.
