Disabling UAC from the Control Panel

If you've used Windows Vista for any length of time, you've been prompted by the UAC countless times. By now you've also probably released how completely useless these prompts are since anyone can OK an action without having to validate who they are. If you are tired of the extra clicks, here's how to disable the UAC from the control panel.

Open the control panel and type the text user account into the search box. You should see a link called "Turn on/off User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure". You'll see either on or off in this link depending on your current UAC status. Under this is a checkbox with text next to it that says "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Uncheck this box and reboot your computer and UAC will be disabled.

If you feel the need to exercise your mouse, and you want to turn UAC back on, just repeat the process, check the box and reboot and UAC will be enabled again.
