Turn off tool tips in Firefox

If you use Firefox, you can pretty easily configure your browser so that it no longer show Tool tips. Just type about:config in the address bar and scroll down the list of preferences until you find one called browser.chrome.toolbar_tips. Once you find it, double click on it and the value will change from true to false... which is the setting that disables the tool tips from being shown.

I did this, changing the value from true to false. Had no effect whatsoever. Tooltips still showing up. Anyway to put a delay on them as is suggested for MAC systems?

This worked for me. But I had to completely close the browser and restart Firefox for it to do anything. Maybe that's what you need to do?

I typed: about:config in stead of about::config

Works great!!!
