Unselecting options in a pull-down form element

If you are on a web page that has a form with a pull-down form element and you make a selection, how do you unselect it so that nothing is selected? If you are on a PC, hold down the Control key and click on the already selected option. It will then be unselected. If you are on a Mac use the Command key instead of the Control key and you will be able to unselect the option when you click on it.
