Boil your bass strings for extended playing life
Musicians, you know how expensive a set of good bass strings can be. So if you are supposed to change them every couple of months at $40 a pop, that gets pricey!!
My trick is to place a large pot on boil, (don't watch or it won't boil...hahaha) drop the CAREFULLY REMOVED set of strings in the water after making a loose loop with the set so they don't unfurl. Leave them in for about 5 minutes and make sure you agitate them so the grime sloughs off easier. When you remove them, dry them well and restring them. It's like they are brand new again!! The sound is amazing! I learned this trick while playing in my current band, Myliye. Check us out!

I checked out http://www.myliye.com but there is not much content going on there. Music sounds good though.
