Removing fat from soups
Here's a tip to help remove the layer of fat you can end up with if you put leftover soup or stew in the fridge. Before you put it in the fridge, put a layer of wax paper over the soup or stew. When the fat congeals at the top, it'll stick to the wax paper. Once it has completely cooled, you can peel off the wax paper and the excess fat will come off with it.
