If you are trying to get to sites are services that are blocked by a firewall at school or work (or by your entire country), there is a new service called MoDazzle that allows you to get tho them through email and SMS... so you can use your school/work email, or your cell phone to get access. They currently support Facebook, LinkedIn as well as services like Google Maps, Yelp, and stock quotes. While using this service provides a "less immersive" experience than being on the site itself, it's better than be completely blocked.
