Get a coupon for a digital TV convertor
If you get your television signal via an antenna, you should be aware that starting Feb 18, 2009 all signals will be broadcast in digital and your existing TV will no longer work (unless it is a newer TV which can accept a digital signal). Starting today (Jan 1, 2007), retailers are now selling conversion boxes so that your existing TV can work with the new digital signals. You need to get one of these boxes between now and the conversion date.
To ease the transition, the government is giving away $40 coupons (two per household) which can be used towards buying conversion boxes (which should cost between $50 - $70). This is a pretty good deal, and it is a limited program, so signing up early is a good idea. You can get your $40 coupons by filling out the form here: http://www.dtv2009.gov/ApplyCoupon.aspx
