The I Madonnari festival in Santa Barbara is a great experience. Every year at the end of May, artists spend three days creating elaborate chalk art works on the sidewalk outside the Santa Barbara mission. Some of the works are really incredible, and it's in a beautiful location too. If you're going to be in Santa Barbara at the end of May, don't miss this festival.
