Replace iPod Battery

If you need to replace your iPod battery, there is a way to do it that is cheaper and quicker than sending your iPod back to Apple.

At http://www.darcynorman.net/2005/11/18/ipod-battery-replacement/, they show the steps needed (including photos of the process) to replace the battery. They claim that this can easily be done in 20 minutes or less.

At http://fastmac.com/ipodupgrade.php you can buy a new battery for your iPod to use in the replacement process. The batteries start at $20 (much cheaper than what Apple charges), and they claim to have 2x the playback capacity of the batteries that are shipped with the iPod.

If you need to replace your iPod battery and your are even somewhat handy, doing it yourself will save you time and money.
