Free phone number look ups from Google

If you are still paying for directory service on your phone, you are a chump. Google is offering a phone directory service for free. Just call 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) and follow the prompts. The call is toll free, and Google does not charge for the service. Once they give you the number, they'll also connect you to the number for free (Qwest charges almost a dollar for this) or text you the phone number for free. Very nice!

This service kicks butt. Regular 411 doesn't offer as nearly as many features as the Google version. And it's free! Makes you wonder how phone companies can get away with charging a dollar for this service.

One important thing to note here, Google 411 is only for business listings. If you want to look up a number for a residence, you still have to use the crappy services.
