If your playing Gears of War, here are some tips to get you started.

-- Play the single-player campaign before going online. This will help you learn the controls and the game so you don't do your learning in front of other people which is always embarrassing.

-- Keep moving. If you stay in a position of cover for too long you will get outflanked and killed. You can take cover, but don't set up camp there. You need to take cover, do some killing, then move on if the position is not working for you.

-- Don't rely on the chain saw to heavily for melee combat if attacking from the front. The chainsaw can be dodged, shot at, and disabled temporarily. The chain saw is best used when attacking an enemy from behind where they can't see it coming.

-- Master the timing of the Active Reload ability. You may have to waste some ammo to get the hang of this, but it pays off in the end.

-- Use the roll and shotgun blast maneuver when you rush an enemy. This is very effective move.

-- Beware of special weapons that you see. There may be ambush set up for you. Make sure you take care of the enemies that are hiding around the weapon before putting yourself out in the open.
