Keep floor boards from squeaking

If you have squeaking floor boards, the only sure-fire way to keep them from squeaking is to screw them down to the sub-floor by putting in screws from underneath the floor. This works great if you have the mechanical aptitude to do this, and more importantly, if you have access underneath the floor. But what to do if you don't have either of those? In that case, try putting talcum powder in the gaps around the squeaking floor board. The board will still move, but the powder will help reduce the amount of squeaking that occurs as a result.
