If you are a game master for a fantasy role playing game, one way to make your game story better is to have names for characters that you'll meet along the way. I like to have lists of names for different character types at the ready and as new characters are met, I use the name at the top of the list and then cross it off. This avoids lame pauses as I try to think up yet another name, and having good names helps the flow of the game.

Since I a lame at thinking up names, I use the Fantasy Name Generator -- it's a free tool that you can use for creating character and location names. It's got a lot of cool options that allow you to pick names appropriate to the type of character or place (a dwarf, a dragon, elf, etc).
