If you are looking for new bands, a great new way to find them is pandora.com. At their free site, you enter the names of bands you like and they create a custom radio station for you that streams music from bands that are similar to the ones you entered. Unlike many recommendation engines, theirs has an interesting property... it actually works. I've found tons of cool new smaller bands based on their recommendations.
