Increase your productivity with feedback
If you use a computer at work, you may spend more time than you think doing "non-productive things" on your computer. A good way to increase your productivity is to get feedback on what you spend your time doing. This helps point out time drains and gives you feedback on the things you should spend less time on.
RescueTime is a tool that makes this sort of feedback easy to get... and private. Their free program tracks exactly how much time you spend using every application on your computer. You just install it (can be installed on both PCs and Macs) and forget it -- you don't have to do anything extra to help the tracking keep track of what you are doing. They load your data to their website and provide analytics that then allow you to determine how you spend your time, how you can be more efficient, etc. It's a cool idea and after you use it for a day or two you may be surprised at the results.
