Improved Spotlight search in LeopardA previous tip (http://www.tipstrs.com/tip/177/Better-spotlight-searches-in-Mac-OS-X) gave several operators that could be used in Spotlight to improve the accuracy of searches. In Leopard, there are several new operators available to help improve your search accuracy in Spotlight.
My favorite new Spotlight search operator is date. You can use a date: operator in conjunction with > and < and - operators to find files after, before, or within a certain date range. Here are some examples: date:>4/15/2006 will find files that were created after April 15, 2006. date:<4/15/2005 will find files that were created before April 15, 2006. date:4/15/2006-4/15/2007 will find file that were created between April 15, 2006 and April 15, 2007. Using the date operator in conjunction with other Spotlight search can greatly help to improve the quality of your search results.
