Learning a Foreign Language via Movies
I see this constantly with my niece. She watches Dora the Explorer and sure enough starts to rattle off a few Spanish phrases. Don't worry I'm not recommending watching Dora to learn Spanish but the principal is a valid one. For students that have a basic or intermediate level of comprehension in their target language, watching an American movie in the target language of choice. Familiarity with the movie is important since it will allow the student to maximize the amount of words he or she can pick up. Even if you only manage to learn a few words, it keeps the foreign language process interesting and gives the student a practical goal to achieve.
