Drying out wet shoes

If your shoes get wet, you need to be careful about how you dry them, especially if your shoes are made out of leather. First of all, do not apply heat to your shoes by using a hair dryer, by placing them close to heat sources like a furnace or heater, or by putting them in a clothes dryer. If you do, they'll dry out too quickly and get hot which can lead to shrinking of the show material. Instead what you want to do is to remove any insoles or liners and then stuff your shoes with crumpled newspapers. Then place your shoe in a warm (not hot) area and allow it to dry slowly. If you do this, you'll ensure that the material of your shoes is not ruined in the process of drying your shoes.
