Typing accented characters on the iPhone

The 1.1.1 update of the iPhone added a new feature which is the ability to type accented characters. To type an accented character, just tap and hold the button for the letter that is the basis for the accented character. After holding down the key, a menu will be shown that allows you to select the desired letter or accent.
