Foods you should not give your dogs
Here are some foods that can seriously injure your dog if they eat them. Make sure your dogs do not eat any of these:
1) Chocolate. Most people already know about this one. This is a stimulant to dogs and can lead to rapid heart rate, vomiting, and muscle tremors.
2) Candy. While not all candy will harm your dog, most candy is made using a sweetener called xylitol, and that's really what the danger is here. Xylitol can lower the blood sugar of your dog leading to liver failure.
3) Grapes and Raisins. These are extremly toxic to dogs and can lead to kidney failure in a matter of days after just one serving. If your dog eats grapes or raisins and then starts throwning up or having diarrhea, get to your vet quickly.
4) Salt. This can affect the water retention of your pet and lead to swelling of the brain as a result. If your pet eats salt and then has muscle tremors, and/or seizures, get to the vet quickly.
5) Onions. This can break down red blood cells in dogs. If they eat onions they may have blood in their urine, be lethargic, breath rapidly and have a rapid pules. If you see these symptoms, get to your vet.
