Configuring auto save in Corel Photo-Paint
Corel Photo-Paint gives you quite a few options concerning the automatic saving of your work... a feature that has saved me many a time. If you go to Tools -> Options then expand Workspace -> Save you can configure your auto-save settings.
Corel Photo-Paint allows you to configure how often the file should be saved, if you should be alerted when this happens (very annoying when this is turned on) and what file should contain the auto-save. If you choose the "Save to file" option, it overwrites the saved file on the disk. I don't like this option cause if I mess things up myself (as opposed to the program crashing), I don't have a save version to go back to. I prefer the "Save to checkpoint" option. When you choose this option Photo-Paint saves your work into a temporary file. When you close the file, the temporary file is removed. If you mess up your project, you can go to Edit -> Restore to Checkpoint and revert to the previously saved version of the temporary file.
